In short, yes. Any unauthorized entry to a 3rd party account is most likely illegal, especially if you plan to use the information for malicious reasons. Would you get in trouble for it? Most likely, no. The fact is that millions of accounts get hacked daily (we’re sure you might of lost one at one time, right?) and there isn’t enough man power in the world to monitor such activities. Hacking a facebook login (name and password) can be done in multiple ways. Most websites will tell you to try a spyware / keylogger program. Phishing is a process of fooling someone into entering their private information into a FAKE facebook login page, and this is how it works: the person you are trying to hack the facebook password from is sent an email that appears to be from facebook (yes, this can be easily done) and the message contains a call to action such as “Your account needs to be activated or it will be suspended!!!” along with a web link to activate your account which actually goes to a made up login page (setup by the hacker, in this case you) that looks identical to facebook. Due to many peoples laziness/stupidity on how very real looking and convincing these “phishing” messages can be, most people often click those links and enter their login details without even thinking, and now a spammer/hacker has them for his purposes which is usually hacking more accounts – after all, you trust your facebook friends, don’t you?

In theory it is very possible, but that is reserved for the most elite hackers in the world. Facebook is a multi-billion dollar company and they keep their servers secure. Obtaining a password via traditional server breach is almost impossible. Unless you hold a masters degree in Internet Technology I would not attempt such a feat. Breaching a facebook server to get someones password can also hold very steep criminal charges versus just stealing a password. Lets just leave this route for the movies 
HACKING FACEBOOK ACCOUNTS FOR 2012 – NEW METHOD.
USING FACEBOOK ROADBLOCK TO GAIN ACCESS TO A ACCOUNT.
This is a very simple method, but it takes some time. Facebook has a built in feature called “roadblock”. Roadblock is used when a user has forgotten their facebook password. After you enter an incorrect password a few times facebook will begin showing you a series of pictures of your friends that you will have to match to their names in order to verify that you’re the original owner of the account. You have to successfully recognize 3 our of 5 friends (you get to make 2 mistakes before the account is completely locked out) in order to be able to change thepassword.
There is a critical flaw in that system the can be easily breached. Let us explain. Most facebook profiles are public, meaning the pictures of account holders can be easily found using Google. If you’re lucky enough you can gain access to an account in minutes by following the tutorial below.

- Go to Facebook.com and enter your victims email and an invalid login (type anything for the password)
- Keep doing so till you get the account “roadblocked”
- Once you begin the roadblock process you will be presented with a page that looks like the picture above.
Now you see their friends, but how to recognize who is who when you might not know some of the people? Keep following our instructions:
- go to Google image search: here
- type: facebook+ “name of 1st friend”, just copy and paste it from the roadblocked page
- search, you will see a picture of the first friend in the top three results
- if you cannot identify the picture, repeat the above using the second name in the list (keep doing so till you finally match the Google results to the facebook roadblock picture)
- if you couldn’t find the profile on Google, simply skip the picture and move onto the next (you have 2 skips)
- after you successfully identify all the pictures facebook will allow you to change the password and BAM, you’re in.
If for some reason you made a mistake and you could not verify the pictures you can try again in 1 hour. Facebook resets every hour so a new roadblock will be available to you in 60 minutes.
